Meet Jessa
I’ve had the privilege of calling Whatcom County home my entire life. Growing up in Custer, WA, I developed an early appreciation for cultivating my own food, working with my hands, and embracing the incredible outdoor activities the PNW has to offer.
When I was 13, my father took my brother and me on a life-changing trip to India. This experience ignited my passion for global health and nonprofit work. After high school, I moved to Bellingham to attend Western Washington University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Community Health. Since then, I’ve worn many hats in roles that required critical thinking, problem-solving, and identifying client-focused solutions. I've volunteered with nonprofits both abroad and locally, serving as an EMT and firefighter. Professionally, I've been a health education specialist, case manager, grant writer, HR coordinator, and business owner.
I rowed on the WWU's women's crew team and as a collegiate athlete, my passion for strength and fitness had always remained a priority in my life. I wanted a chance to share my passion and knowledge with people in my own way so I obtained my personal training certification and opened a strength and fitness studio. As a business owner, I learned valuable organization skills and developed an exceptional ability to multitask and coordinate projects. This experience has been essential to my role as a Realtor. More importantly, I've had the opportunity to continue my commitment to providing people with personalized, first class, genuine service and building a relationship that lasts long after a transaction has closed. I enjoy making people feel special, heard, and understood, which makes each transaction a rewarding experience for me.
What ultimately drew me to obtain my real estate license in 2020 was a mix between curiosity and a desire to be challenged in a new way. Many of my friends had expressed they might never be able to purchase a home in Bellingham. I wanted to learn as much as I could about real estate so I could help make the seemingly impossible achievable for both myself and those I care about. Helping friends and family in the process of buying or selling a home has been incredibly rewarding.
My main strengths as a realtor lie in my ability to prioritize and solve problems in a creative and collaborative way. I enjoy being around people and have a deep respect and admiration for what makes each person unique. That being said, I understand the reality that each client I work with has different needs and goals. My job is to listen to what those may be and structure a clearly defined plan to help achieve their desired outcome. What sets me apart is my ability to stay calm regardless of the situation and be respectful and kind in all my interactions. I value what others have to say and believe clear and effective communication is key to every successful transaction. Whether you are a first-time homebuyer, selling your third home, downsizing, upsizing, or purchasing an investment property, I hope I can be a part of your real estate journey and help in any way I can.
When I’m not helping clients achieve their real estate goals, you’ll find me enjoying Whatcom County’s beautiful outdoors. Whether it’s trail running, mountain biking, snowboarding, or playing pickleball, I’m deeply rooted in the outdoor recreation community that makes this area so special. I’m also proud to be actively involved in Ski to Sea, one of the most historic and iconic events in Whatcom County. Being on the Board of Directors and participating in this multi-sport relay has been a cherished tradition for me, representing the adventure, passion for the outdoors, and community spirit that defines this area. Connecting people and working together to achieve the unthinkable is something I’m deeply passionate about.
